What's Laughter Yoga?
"A medical doctor, Madan Kataria, followed his passion to explore how laughter might indeed be "the best medicine" for the human condition. In 1995 with his wife Madhuri, he began the Laughter Yoga movement in a park in Mumbai, India that has spread world-wide.
Playful, intentional "practice laughter exercises" are combined with yoga deep breathing to make one potent *tonic* for body, mind and spirit wellness. The most benefits come when the activity is sustained 10-15 minutes or more, in a group or solo laughing.
Today, Laughter Yoga is practiced in 105 countries around the world, at public laughter clubs, in clinical settings, community, business, educational and senior-care arenas. Folks also connect for laughter-care experiences via Zoom, Skype, Hangouts and more.
Some life coaches, yoga teachers and other integrative health practitioners include this into their client care - healing does not have to be drudgery.
Businesses find Laughter Yoga a keen stimulus for health promotion, team-building, creativity and even *improvement in workplace efficacy*.
